Raymond, Agnes  (Siminski)              (December 2006)

Agnes Raymond, age 86, of Laona, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Nu-Roc Community Health Care Center, Blackwell.  Agnes was born in Pulaski, on October 24, 1920 the daughter of the late Joseph and Balbina (Lang) Siminski.  She married Joe Raymond in Laona on October 24, 1939, where they resided the rest of their lives.  Agnes worked at the Gordon Hotel in Laona before transferring to Connor's Store where she worked until her retirement.

Agnes is survived by her daughter, Joanne (Ken) Mullins of Crandon; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Pasternak; brothers, Frank and Edward Siminski; sisters, Christine Elbe and Stella Ransman.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home, Crandon. Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. with Father John Cerkas officiating. Interment was at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery.  Pallbearers were grandsons: Keith, Randy and Eddie Mullins, John and Chris Pasternak and Michael and Danny Gostsha.

Ross, Harry Charles Jr.      (January 2007)

Harry Charles Ross Jr., born January 21, 1922, in Laona, died in Fortuna on January 21, 2007, at the age of 85.  Harry grew up in Laona.  His father, Harry Ross, ran the Owl's Club in Laona.  Harry served in the Air Force for six years, from 1941, and fought in World War II.  He was an instructor for flight mechanics while in the Air Force at Buckley Field in Denver, Colorado.  He met his wife, Phyllis in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1944 and they came to California in 1951.  Together they lived in Fortuna and raised six children.  Harry worked for Pacific Lumber in Scotia for 30 years.  After the loss of his wife, Phyllis, in 1975, he met his second wife, Alyce, and they were married in 1978.

He is survived by his sons, Chuck and wife Cindy Ross of Everson, Washington, Tom and wife Donna Ross of Fortuna and Eugene Ross of Rio Dell; daughters, Lorraine O'Keefe of Napa, Cathy and husband John Kessinger of Millville; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Myra Sharnek of Fortuna, Mona Michlig of Fortuna and Pat DeLarwelle of Reno, Nevada.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and by his close friend, Rosemary Campbell.  He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Phyllis L. Ross in 1975; second wife, Alyce B. Ross in May 2006; daughter, Mary Christine Ross from Fortuna; brother, Eugene Ross from Eureka; and sister, Delores Cleerman of Wisconsin.

A memorial service was held at the Hope Lutheran Church on January 27, 2007 with Pastor Tom Slater officiating. A private interment was held at Ocean View Cemetery, Eureka.
